Tie-Breaks & Rating
The published tie-break order is REP, Buchholz Total, Buchholz Cut 1, then Average Rating of Opponents. For ARO calculations, the relevant Italian rating is treated according to the published FSI/FIDE equivalence rule.
Open A and Open B are valid for FIDE rating variation. Italian players and foreign players resident in Italy need the appropriate valid 2026 FSI Agonistica or Juniores membership, while non-resident foreign players must satisfy the FIDE-ID rules of their federation.
Default Time & Forfeits
The published default time is 30 minutes. A player arriving later than the permitted period can lose by forfeit. The regulations also provide for the federation bye mechanism where applicable.
Prize Conditions
Open A’s €800 cash awards are indivisible and non-cumulative. The winner receives €300 plus a plaque, while the next four cash prizes are €200, €150, €100, and €50. Separate distinctions recognize the best Over 65, woman, and Under 16 player.
Open B uses cups, books, and other in-kind awards rather than a published cash table. Cash awards in the event are subject to the applicable Italian withholding rules.

Electronic communication devices may be present only when completely switched off and kept inaccessible during play in accordance with the regulations. Players should follow the arbiter’s directions on where phones and smart devices may be stored.
