The 14° Festival Veloce Club Pinerolo 2026 takes place from November 20–22, 2026 at Veloce Club Scacchi in Pinerolo, Piedmont. The festival combines one Open Integral tournament with 12 youth championships divided by age and gender.
All events use 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one and are valid for Standard Elo under FSI/FIDE regulations. The youth events also serve as qualifiers for the 2027 Italian Youth Championship Final, subject to the federation’s qualification rules.
The Open publishes €500 / approx. $590 in cash reimbursements plus cups, while youth winners receive cups and qualifying certificates. The regulations cap the entire festival at 50 participants and require Vesus pre-registration.

The Open and youth events use 90+30 and are valid for Standard Elo where applicable. Swiss Dutch pairings are used unless a youth group requires another federation-approved format.

Youth Tie-Breaks
Youth tie-breaks depend on format. Six-player round robins use Direct Encounter / mini-league, wins, Sonneborn-Berger, Koya and Armageddon. Youth Swiss groups use Direct Encounter / mini-league, Buchholz Cut 1, Sonneborn-Berger, APRO and Armageddon.
Byes & Default
A requested half-point bye is not available. A pairing-allocated bye is worth ½ point. A player arriving more than 60 minutes late loses the game.

Cash awards are net, non-cumulative and subject to the applicable tax withholding. The published Open fund totals €500.
Youth Awards
Youth category winners receive cups. Players who qualify for the Italian Youth Championship Final receive the published qualification certificate / parchment under the federation rules.

Youth Tournaments
Separate categories are announced for U8, U8 Girls, U10, U10 Girls, U12, U12 Girls, U14, U14 Girls, U16, U16 Girls, U18 and U18 Girls. The arbiter may merge groups depending on entry numbers. If fewer than 14 players enter the youth program in total, the youngsters who still wish to play must compete in the Open Integral.
Eligible youth include Italian citizens and qualifying foreign youth registered with FSI who hold an Italian FIN and the required proof of attendance at an Italian educational institution. Players unable to document youth eligibility may instead enter the Open if otherwise eligible.

📝 Registration
Open Integral
Standard fee: €40. Veloce members receive a €20 discount; women and Under 18 players receive a €10 discount. Discounts are not cumulative.
Youth Tournaments
Standard youth fee: €30, with a €10 discount for Veloce members. FM, IM and GM players receive free entry.
Vesus pre-registration is mandatory and closes at 10:00 PM on Thursday, November 19. Later entries are accepted only while capacity remains and carry a €10 surcharge. The maximum combined field is 50 players.

The first three options are listed as central and reachable on foot; the other properties are outside Pinerolo and are more practical by car. Rates are not fixed in the tournament regulations.
🚆 How to Get There
By Car
From the Turin–Pinerolo motorway, exit at Pinerolo and continue toward Sestriere, then use the Miradolo exit and follow the organizer’s route toward Stradale Fenestrelle. The flyer notes ample parking in squares near the Veloce; internal parking is reserved for disabled visitors.
By Train
Use the Chivasso–Pinerolo line and get off at Pinerolo station, not Pinerolo Olimpica. The organizer estimates about a 15-minute walk to the club.
By Bus
From Turin, buses stop around Piazza Cavour / the railway station area. From Piazza Cavour, the organizer describes a walk of roughly 300 metres toward the mountains to the club area.

Electronic Devices
Phones and smartwatches may be brought into the competition area only when switched off and deposited in the organizer’s designated container at the arbiter’s table. Storage remains at the owner’s risk. Any noise from a device results in loss of the game.
Accessibility
Players with disabilities who have specific playing requirements are asked to inform the organizer in advance so that arrangements can be made.
Youth Qualification
The top 10% of eligible players in the absolute and girls’ youth categories qualify for the national final, rounded upward, provided they complete the event and score at least the required 25% threshold excluding byes and forfeits. Federation-category exclusions also apply under the detailed rules.
