1st MyInvestor Casablanca International Chess Festival 2026
The 1st MyInvestor Casablanca International Open 2026 takes place from September 5–12, 2026, in Zaragoza, Spain. Moreover, Stadium Casablanca hosts the tournament at its multisport complex on Vía Ibérica.

⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
The organizer runs the tournament over nine rounds using the Dutch Swiss system. Moreover, Swiss-Manager handles the pairings and tournament administration.
Each player receives 90 minutes for the game. In addition, the clock adds 30 seconds after every move from move one.
The organizer ranks players first by FIDE rating. However, it uses FADA rating when a player has no FIDE rating.

A player who misses a round without a justified reason leaves the tournament. Therefore, players must notify the arbiters before any planned absence.
🏆 Prize Fund
The organizer offers a total prize fund of €15,000, approximately $17,070. Moreover, the prize list includes general, women’s, rating-band, and Aragon federation awards.

Sunday includes two rounds. Therefore, players should prepare for a full day of classical chess.
The organizer publishes the first-round pairings by 10:00 on September 5. Afterwards, it publishes new pairings at the venue and online.

The organizer offers free entry to GM, WGM, IM, and WIM titleholders. In addition, players rated at least 2350 on September 1 receive free entry.

The organizer then sends a secure card-payment link. Consequently, registration becomes complete after the player pays the entry fee.
Players who complete the tournament may open a MyInvestor account with a €25 incentive, approximately $30.
Licence Requirements
Spanish players need a valid FEDA licence. Moreover, every participant must hold a valid FIDE ID before entering the tournament.

Arrival Advice
Round 1 begins at 17:00 on Saturday, September 5. Therefore, players should arrive early enough to find the playing hall and their board.
Public-transport conditions may change during the tournament. Consequently, participants should check the latest tram, bus, and airport information before travelling.

Byes
Players may request no more than two zero-point byes.
Players must request Round 1 or Round 2 byes before the tournament begins. They should send the request to openmyinvestorstc@stadiumcasablanca.com.
For later rounds, players must submit a signed request before the previous round ends.
Tie-Breaks
The organizer applies the following tie-break criteria:
- Buchholz Total Cut 2
- Buchholz Total
- Average Tournament Performance Rating of Opponents
- Median Buchholz
- Average Buchholz of Opponents
Electronic Devices and Watches
Players may bring electronic devices only when they switch them off completely. Moreover, they must store each device inside a closed bag on the floor.
Players cannot carry that bag when leaving the board. In addition, they need an arbiter’s permission before touching the bag or its contents.
The tournament prohibits every type of watch inside the playing area. This restriction covers smart, analogue, and digital watches.
Any sound, light, or vibration from a prohibited device causes an immediate loss.
Fair Play
The organizer applies the FIDE anti-cheating regulations. Therefore, arbiters may conduct fair-play checks at any time.
Electronic boards transmit games online with a 15-minute delay. In addition, FIDE detection tools may monitor selected games.
Appeals
A player must submit an appeal within 30 minutes of the relevant decision. Moreover, the player must provide a €100 deposit, approximately $120.
The committee returns the deposit only when it rules in the player’s favour.
Playing-Hall Rules
Players cannot bring food into the playing hall. However, they may keep closed water bottles beneath the table.
The venue prohibits smoking inside the playing area. Moreover, players need an arbiter’s permission before leaving the playing zone during a game.
