♟️ About MyInvestor and Stadium Casablanca Chess Club

MyInvestor and Stadium Casablanca Chess Club, competing under the name MyInvestor Casablanca, represents the chess section of Stadium Casablanca in Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain, together with the sponsorship and chess-development support of Spanish digital bank MyInvestor. The partnership began in 2021, when MyInvestor became an official sponsor of the Stadium Casablanca chess section. Stadium Casablanca provides the permanent club structure, playing facilities, training program, teams, and tournament organization behind the project. MyInvestor Casablanca operates across several levels of Spanish chess. Its teams compete in the Aragón team championship, including the regional División de Honor, while the wider section supports developing players and multiple lower-division teams. The partnership has also invested in women’s chess through Jaque de Dama, an initiative launched with Spanish International Master and Women’s Grandmaster Sabrina Vega. In addition, Stadium Casablanca provides chess instruction and competitive opportunities for players of different ages and strengths. IM Diego Adla Martín is one of the principal leaders of the chess section and the most appropriate current contact for tournament and competitive chess matters. He serves as delegate of MyInvestor Casablanca teams in the Aragón championship and as Chief Organizer of the new international festival. The organization’s major current project is the 1st MyInvestor Casablanca International Chess Festival, scheduled for September 5–12, 2026, at Stadium Casablanca in Zaragoza.

🤝 MyInvestor Partnership and Jaque de Dama

Stadium Casablanca and MyInvestor announced their chess partnership in March 2021. The agreement initially supported the club’s leading men’s and women’s teams while also creating a dedicated initiative to increase female participation in competitive chess. The resulting Jaque de Dama chess school was developed with the support of Sabrina Vega, one of Spain’s strongest female players. Vega joined the Stadium Casablanca project both as a player and as a prominent figure supporting chess education for women and girls. The partnership subsequently strengthened the club’s competitive ambitions. Spanish Grandmaster Francisco Vallejo Pons joined MyInvestor Stadium Casablanca in 2022, adding one of Spain’s strongest-ever players to the team structure.

♜ Team Chess in Aragón

MyInvestor Casablanca remains one of the most active team organizations in Aragón. During the 2026 Campeonato de Aragón por Equipos, the club entered numerous squads across several levels of the regional system. Its strongest team, MyInvestor Casablanca A, reached the División de Honor title group and finished second, behind 2026 champion Jaque-Aramovil. MyInvestor Casablanca B also competed in División de Honor, while additional teams participated in Preferente and the lower regional and promotion categories. This depth allows the organization to combine high-level competitive chess with opportunities for club players and developing juniors. Consequently, the project extends well beyond a single elite team.

🌍 1st MyInvestor Casablanca International Chess Festival 2026

The next major development is the 1st MyInvestor Casablanca International Chess Festival, scheduled for September 5–12, 2026 at Stadium Casablanca. The festival includes the I Open Internacional de Ajedrez MyInvestor Casablanca together with separate GM and IM closed tournaments designed to provide opportunities for FIDE title norms. The main Open uses a nine-round Swiss system and a classical time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move. It is rated by both FIDE and the Federación Aragonesa de Ajedrez and forms part of the 2026 Circuito Aragonés. The organizers have set a maximum of 250 participants for the Open and a published prize fund of €15,000. Grandmasters, International Masters, Women’s Grandmasters, Women’s International Masters, and sufficiently high-rated players receive preferential entry conditions. IM Diego Adla serves as Chief Organizer. IA Rubén Cajo Esteban is Chief Arbiter, with Enrique García García as Deputy Chief Arbiter. Therefore, the festival combines Stadium Casablanca’s established club infrastructure with an experienced international tournament team.

🏛️ Stadium Casablanca and Chess Development

Stadium Casablanca is a large multisport club in Zaragoza with more than a dozen sporting sections. Its chess section is officially registered with the Federación Aragonesa de Ajedrez and uses the Stadium complex on Vía Ibérica as its permanent playing base. Chess activity includes team matches, classes, training, individual competition, and participation in regional and national events. The MyInvestor partnership has added resources and visibility while retaining Stadium Casablanca as the institutional home of the chess section. The creation of the international festival in 2026 marks a further expansion of this work. In addition to maintaining one of Aragón’s deepest team structures, MyInvestor Casablanca is now developing an international event that combines an open tournament with dedicated GM and IM norm competitions.
