14 14 people viewed this event.

The 2026 World Chess Festival – Orlando: Adult Open will take place from December 29–30, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Orlando-International Airport in Orlando, Florida. The five-round tournament is part of the year-end World Chess Festival and provides serious long-time-control competition for adult players as well as qualifying high-rated juniors.

Players compete at G/60 +30, receiving 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one. The tournament is US Chess rated, while the Top Section is also FIDE rated. The final number of sections depends on attendance, with one section used for a smaller field and two sections when participation reaches the organizer’s published threshold.

Instead of advertising a fixed prize fund, the organizer returns 50% of all collected entry fees as cash prizes. The exact prize distribution is determined after the field is known and is announced after Round 2. This means the total payout grows with tournament participation.

♟️ Event Details

The Adult Open consists of five long-time-control rounds across two tournament days. Adult players may enter regardless of rating, while younger players must satisfy the published US Chess rating requirement.
