Romania’s premier national championships return to Craiova for a multi-event festival at Hotel Prestige from 14–23 February 2025. Under the umbrella title Campionatele Naționale ale României – Open, Senioare, Amatori & Dezlegări, the week features full-length classical titles for the Open and Women (Senioare), a brisk Amateur Championship (Elo <2200), and the National Solving Championship. With a total prize fund of 100,000 lei, strict FIDE standards, and centralized accommodation, this is the pinnacle of Romania’s domestic chess calendar.

Expect professional organization by the Federația Română de Șah, clear round times, and smooth logistics inside a single venue. Open & Senioare play nine classical rounds on a steady daily cadence; Amatori runs nine quicker classical rounds across six days; Dezlegări is a two-round same-day competition. Registration is streamlined via the federation portal, and titled players (IM/WIM/GM/WGM) enjoy a participation-fee waiver.

🏆 Prize Fund

Open & Women (Senioare) — 67,000 lei total

• Open: Top-10 money prizes (1st place includes a “Wild Card GCT” designation).

• Women (Top-10): 1st 8,000 lei, 2nd 5,000, 3rd 3,000, 4th 2,500, 5th 2,000, 6th 1,500, 7th 1,300, 8th 1,200, 9th 1,100, 10th 1,000.
  Prizes are taxable under Romanian law and paid by bank transfer within 15 days; presence at the closing ceremony is expected (otherwise –10%).

Amatori (Elo <2200) — 30,000 lei total

Dezlegări (Solving) — 3,000 lei total

• Open & Senioare: 90′ + 30″/move with an extra +15′ after move 40 (9 rounds).

• Amatori: 60′ + 30″/move (9 rounds).

• Dezlegări: two solving rounds in one day.

• FIDE Laws apply; results rated per federation standards; dress code in effect.
