⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

The festival uses a 7-round Swiss system in both sections. Each player receives 90 minutes for the game, and the clock adds 30 seconds from move one. As a result, the event offers a full classical rhythm instead of a compact rapid-style format.

The tournament also applies a clear competitive structure. Tie-breaks follow this order: direct encounter, rounds played, Buchholz Total, Buchholz Cut 1, and average rating of opponents. In addition, the default forfeit time is 60 minutes, so players should arrive well before the scheduled start of each round.

Players may also request one programmed half-point bye in one of the first five rounds. Therefore, the event remains flexible enough for travel planning while still protecting the sporting integrity of the schedule.

🏆 Prize Fund

The published total prize fund is EUR 3,750. The detailed section prizes below are listed as net prizes, while the festival advertises the overall total as a gross figure. Therefore, the event combines a strong headline total with a clear section-by-section payout.

Section Prize details
Tournament A EUR 800 + cup, EUR 600 + cup, EUR 400 + cup, EUR 300, EUR 200, EUR 150
Tournament A – Elo up to 1900 1st EUR 100 + cup, 2nd EUR 100
Tournament B EUR 150 + cup, EUR 100 + cup, EUR 50 + cup, EUR 50

This structure gives Tournament A the stronger top prizes, while Tournament B still offers a meaningful reward system for players in the lower section.

👥 Sections / Groups

The festival is split into two main rating sections. That setup gives stronger players a more competitive top field, while also offering a separate tournament for developing club players.

Section Eligibility Notes
Tournament A Italian or FIDE Elo 1750 and above Main section
Tournament B Italian or FIDE Elo from 1400 to 1800 Secondary section
Wild cards Up to 3 in each section Granted at organizer discretion

The organizer may also admit a small number of lower-rated wild cards in each section. Consequently, the structure stays controlled while still allowing some flexibility.
