⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
The main event uses a long classical pace. Each player receives 90 minutes for the game plus a 30-second increment from move one. As a result, the tournament fits players who want serious over-the-board chess rather than a short weekend rapid format.
The Bonus Blitz Open adds a separate fast-chess event on August 3. That side tournament uses 3+2 and runs for 9 rounds. Meanwhile, the classical tournament follows the FIDE rules of chess for the applicable formats, and the organizer also directs players to the event policy framework used across its tournaments.
👥 Sections / Groups
The tournament is built around three main sections. The top Open section counts for both FIDE and CFC rating, while U1600 and U1100 are listed as CFC-rated only. In addition, the organizer notes that the U1600 and U1100 sections may be adjusted based on actual entries and player composition.
| Section | Rating / format | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Open | FIDE + CFC rated classical | Main section |
| U1600 | CFC rated classical | Subject to adjustment based on entries |
| U1100 | CFC rated classical | Subject to adjustment based on entries |
| Bonus Blitz Open | FIDE + CFC rated blitz | Separate final-day side event |
This setup gives stronger players a FIDE-rated top section. At the same time, it gives developing club players two lower sections inside the same festival.

The event uses a steady five-day schedule with two rounds per day from Thursday through Sunday and a final single round on Monday. After that, the tournament ends with prizes and the Bonus Blitz Open.

Players in FIDE-rated sections must have a FIDE ID before the tournament starts. CFC membership is also mandatory, and unrated players who plan to arrange that membership on their own must complete it before round 1 and submit their CFC ID by email. Moreover, the organizer’s tournament policies allow up to two half-point byes, but not in the final round of a classical event or in the last two rounds of a 9-round blitz.
