ℹ️ Other Information

Schweizer Schach Senioren was founded in 1966 to promote chess among senior players in Switzerland. Today, the association has more than 600 members and organizes a regular programme of senior tournaments around the country.

Membership is open to players who reach the age of 60 during their year of admission. Furthermore, members must belong to the Swiss Chess Federation.

The association’s tournaments combine competitive chess with a social programme and stays in attractive Swiss destinations. Gstaad fits this format particularly well because the tournament schedule leaves substantial free time after most rounds.

Hotel Gstaaderhof is located close to Gstaad’s pedestrian centre and surrounding walking routes. Therefore, participants can combine the tournament with autumn excursions in the Saanenland region.

Players who intend to stay at Hotel Gstaaderhof should book as early as possible, because the organizer specifically warns that room availability is limited.
