ℹ️ Other Information
The Ritmo Lento Villa de La Zubia tournament began in 2011. At that time, the organizers wanted to provide Granada-area players with another opportunity to compete in classical chess outside the official provincial competitions.
Since then, the event has developed into a regular December tournament attracting players from Granada, other parts of Andalusia and beyond.
The tournament is organized by Club de Ajedrez Villa de La Zubia, one of the most active chess clubs in Andalusia. The club also organizes youth, rapid and blitz competitions and participates extensively in Spanish team chess.
For the 2026 edition, the Spanish Chess Federation has already registered the event for national and international rating calculation.
The detailed 2026 entry fees, prize structure, registration deadline, player limit and bye regulations have not yet been published on the official tournament website. Players should therefore check the organizer’s website before registering rather than relying on conditions from previous editions.
