⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

The tournament will be played over six Swiss-system rounds. Each player will receive 60 minutes for the entire game, with a 30-second increment added after every move. The results will count for both FIDE Standard and Japan Chess Federation Standard rating calculation.

System Swiss system
Rounds 6
Time Control 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move
Rating Calculation FIDE Standard and Japan Chess Federation Standard
Pairing Program Swiss-Manager

Players must keep an accurate scoresheet until the end of every game. After completing a game, both players must confirm and sign the recorded result before reporting it to the arbiter.

The tie-break order is:

  1. Direct Encounter
  2. Buchholz Cut-1
  3. Buchholz
  4. Sonneborn-Berger
  5. Sum of opponents’ ratings
  6. Drawing of lots

Players tied within the top eight may be required to participate in Armageddon playoffs. If exactly three players are tied, a round-robin playoff will be held.

If four or more players finish tied on the same score, their final positions will be determined using the tie-break order.

In an Armageddon game, White receives 10 minutes. Both players submit a time bid of up to 10 minutes, and the player making the lower bid plays Black. Black is declared the winner if the game ends in a draw.
