🏆 Championship Tie-Break Play-Off

If players tie for first place in either the overall Championship or the Women’s Championship, the title is decided by a play-off after the final round.

Tied players are seeded according to their Tournament Performance Rating (TPR). If more than eight players are tied, only the top eight by TPR qualify for the play-off.

Play-off matches use a knockout format consisting of two games at 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move.

If a match remains tied, a sudden-death game is played. White receives 4 minutes + 2 seconds per move, while the player bidding the lowest starting time receives Black. If the sudden-death game is drawn, Black wins the match.

When a Championship play-off is required, 80% of the relevant prize money is shared among the tied players, while the remaining 20% goes to the player who wins the title.

🛡️ Fair Play

The 4NCL Anti-Cheating Policy applies throughout the championship.

All games are played using digital clocks, and the Chief Arbiter’s decisions during the tournament are final.
