Players receive 90 minutes for the game, plus a 30-second increment from move one. This time control gives the tournament a full classical format across 11 rounds.

Players may file a protest in writing within 15 minutes of the incident. The protest fee is ₹1,000, and the organizer refunds it if the appeal succeeds.

Players should complete AICF and MCA requirements before Round 1. Therefore, they should not leave federation registration issues until the tournament day.
