
2026 Michigan Bottom Half Class Championships
The 2026 Michigan Bottom Half Class Championships take place on October 10–11, 2026 at Wyndham Garden Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Michigan Chess Association runs a multi-section weekend championship with five-round two-day sections and two shorter one-day lower-rating groups.
The main sections use G/90 + 30-second increment. The Top section is also FIDE rated, while the U900/Unrated and U500/Unrated one-day events use G/30 with a five-second delay.
The organizer guarantees $2,575 in cash prizes for the two-day sections. In addition, trophies and state-champion recognition reward leading Michigan residents and winners in the lower-rated groups.

📝 Registration
Advance entry must be paid by October 8. Registrations after that date add $15. Online registration closes at 10:00 PM on October 9, while on-site registration runs Saturday from 8:30–9:30 AM.
