The tournament offers three FIDE-rated sections based on player rating.

The tournament has a general 1200+ rating requirement, unless a player qualifies and pays to play up.
Playing Up
Players may play up when their rating is within 100 points of the minimum rating for the higher section.
The play-up charge is $1 for each rating point below the required section threshold.
For example, a player rated 2050 who wants to enter the 2100+ section would pay an additional $50 play-up fee.
Play-up fees are non-refundable.

Half-Point Bye
Players may request a half-point bye for Round 1 only.
The request must reach the organizer before the tournament begins.
Cell Phones
Players must keep cell phones turned off and put away during tournament games.
If a phone rings or remains visible during a game, the organizer may declare the game forfeited.
US Chess Membership
Because the tournament carries US Chess ratings, players must hold a current US Chess membership.
