⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
The tournament runs a 6-round Swiss system and seeds every round by rating. Group A and Group B use FIDE rating for pairings, while Group C and Group D use KNSB rating for pairings. The tournament locks final tournament ratings from the June 1 lists, and rating changes can move a player to a different group.
Each game uses 1 hour 50 minutes per player per game plus a 10-second increment from move 1. A player forfeits after arriving more than 60 minutes late, unless the arbiter decides otherwise. The tournament ranks players by score, then head-to-head when possible and only for first place, then opposition points, Sonneborn-Berger score, and drawing of lots. The tournament can award one half-point bye only once, only in rounds 1–4, and only when the player notifies the tournament director on time; all other byes score 0 points. In rounds 1 and 2, the tournament can re-pair a player who still has no opponent 30 minutes after the round starts, at the tournament director’s discretion.
