NK Snelschaken 2026 determines the Dutch individual blitz champion in Rotterdam on September 12. Stichting Schaak Promotie runs the event at Rustburcht and uses the Amsterdam system instead of a standard Swiss tournament. Moreover, the competition combines several preliminary pools with larger final pools, so every participant receives a structured route toward an appropriate final group.
All games use a 3+2 time control, and the organizer submits the results for both FIDE and KNSB blitz rating. The championship also applies national eligibility rules concerning KNSB membership and the player’s FIDE federation. Therefore, players should confirm eligibility, payment, and final admission before they travel. Finally, the organizer includes lunch in the entry fee and plans live transmission from selected boards.

⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
Every player receives three minutes and a two-second increment from move one. First, the organizer places players into preliminary pools; next, the results determine the larger final pools.
The final-pool tie-break order uses final-pool score, direct encounter, total preliminary score, progressively reduced preliminary score, and Sonneborn-Berger. In addition, the regulations apply a three-minute default time, so players must reach the board promptly.

Total Prize Fund: €5,000 / approx. $5,700. The Dutch Chess Federation calendar publishes this overall amount for the 2026 championship.
The organizer will confirm the final distribution after the entry field becomes clear. Therefore, this page does not reproduce the previous edition’s individual prize table as though it applied automatically to 2026.
