📂 Sections / Groups

The tournament has one open classical section.

The optional team competition may take place if at least six clubs enter pre-nominated teams of three players.

Team standings use the sum of the final places of the three team members. The team with the lowest total wins. If teams tie, the best individual placing decides the order.

The tournament starts on Thursday, August 27, with registration and the opening ceremony. Round 1 begins at 3:00 PM.

Friday and Saturday each include two classical rounds. In addition, the organizer will run a blitz tournament on Saturday evening with a time control of 2 × 5 minutes.

The final two rounds take place on Sunday, August 30, followed immediately by the prize ceremony.

Sol Oriens Kft. organizes the II. Szentmiklós Open 2026 with Dr. Szalóki Árpád as main organizer. The event gives players a FIDE-rated tournament opportunity in Törökszentmiklós and also creates a chess-focused weekend for accompanying family members.
