All sections count for both ECF rating and FIDE rating. The Open and Major section games will also be uploaded to public databases.
FIDE rules apply for illegal moves and time penalties. In addition, players who arrive more than 30 minutes after the start of a round will lose by default.
Players may request half-point byes in Rounds 1–4. However, they may not take a bye in the final round. The maximum number of byes for one player is two.

The total prize fund is £2,440 / approx. $3,270. The congress includes section prizes, grading prizes, diversity prizes, and ChessPick coaching credits.
A player who qualifies for two prizes receives only the higher-value prize. However, winners of diversity prizes may also receive one additional prize.

The organizer uses rating information to place players in the correct section. Section allocation and seeding follow a priority order that starts with ECF standard play grade, then FIDE standard rating, followed by rapid and online ratings where needed.
Players without a current rating should provide previous rating information and online rating screenshots if requested. The Chief Arbiter may approve provisional ratings for section placement.
