Players may arrive up to 60 minutes after the official start of each round. After that limit, the player loses by forfeit.

Tie-breaks follow the International Buchholz system. The published order is Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz Total, and average rating of opponents.

💰 Prize Fund

The festival includes €2,250 in confirmed cash prizes, which equals approximately USD 2,620. The organizer also awards vouchers, chess books, DVDs, trophies, and cups.

🧩 Sections / Groups

The festival has three playing sections.

Open A is reserved for players with Elo 1850 or higher. The organizer may admit up to three players below the normal cutoff, but only if they have Elo 1800 or higher.

Open B is for players rated from 1575 to 1899 Elo. The organizer may also admit up to three players below the minimum rating cutoff.

Open C is reserved for players below 1625 Elo. This section gives lower-rated players a separate FIDE-rated weekend tournament.

Italian players and foreign players resident in Italy need valid FSI membership for 2026 or 2027. Players without the required membership may complete the appropriate FSI membership through the organizing club at the venue.

The hotel sits near the Pescara Nord exit of the A14 Bologna–Bari motorway. Therefore, it is practical for players arriving by car from the Adriatic motorway route.

Pescara railway station is about 8 km from the hotel. In addition, Pescara Airport is about 15 km away, so players arriving by train or air can continue to Montesilvano by taxi, local transport, or private transfer.
