⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
Both groups use a long classical format over nine rounds. Each player receives 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move, which gives the event a steady and serious tournament rhythm.
In addition, players may request a half-point bye in rounds 1-5. That rule adds flexibility, especially for a long seaside event. Group A is reserved for players with FIDE Elo 1600 and above, while Group B is for players below 1600 and for unrated players.
However, players below 1600 may still enter Group A if they pay a 50% higher entry fee. As a result, ambitious lower-rated players still have a path into the stronger section.
🏆 Prize Fund
The published guaranteed cash prizes start from PLN 3,000, which is approximately $806. Group A guarantees PLN 2,000 for first place, while Group B guarantees PLN 1,000 for first place.
In addition, both groups state that at least 15% of the field will receive cash prizes. Therefore, the final cash payout can rise above the guaranteed published minimum.
| Section | Confirmed published cash prizes |
|---|---|
| Group A | 1st place: PLN 2,000 |
| Group B | 1st place: PLN 1,000 |
Both groups also include a cash prize for the best woman. Moreover, extra awards for best senior 60+ and best juniors under 18 can be added when the minimum participation conditions are met. Those junior and senior awards include cups, diplomas, and material prizes. Prizes do not accumulate.
👥 Sections / Groups
| Section | Eligibility | Rounds | Time Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group A | FIDE Elo 1600+ | 9 | 90 min + 30 sec |
| Group B | FIDE Elo below 1600 and unrated players | 9 | 90 min + 30 sec |
The structure is clear and practical. Stronger players can enter Group A. Meanwhile, developing players and unrated participants can choose Group B.
Because both groups follow the same round count and time control, the event keeps one consistent playing rhythm from start to finish.
