The event uses two time controls. Rounds 1–4 use 10 minutes per player plus 5 seconds per move. These games count for rapid rating.
Rounds 5–7 use 90 minutes for the game plus 30 seconds per move. These games count for standard rating. As a result, players get both fast games and longer tournament games during the same weekend.
Pairings follow a 7-round modified Swiss system. For the standard games, players may arrive up to 30 minutes after the round starts. After that limit, the player loses by forfeit.
