⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

Players receive 100 minutes for the first 40 moves. After that, they receive 40 minutes for the rest of the game. In addition, every move adds a 30-second increment from move one.

The classical events use a 7-round Swiss system. Pairings use Swiss-Manager, and the festival submits games for FIDE rating.

Pairings appear before each round. However, players should still check the official notice area regularly because updates may appear as soon as they become available.

The default time is 30 minutes. Therefore, players should reach the board on time and avoid any risk of forfeit.

Tie-breaks for ranking follow this order: Sum of Progressive Scores, Median Buchholz, Most Wins, and drawing of lots. However, cash place prizes are shared equally when players finish on the same score.

🧩 Sections / Groups

The festival has two main FIDE-rated classical sections.

Open Tournament is the main classical event. It welcomes players in the festival’s top section and offers the largest prize fund.

Challengers Tournament is for players below 1900 Elo. However, this section needs at least 40 entries. If the entry level falls below that number, the organizer may combine it with the Open.

The festival also includes a FIDE-rated blitz tournament. Therefore, players can enjoy both classical and faster chess during the same week.
