⏱️ Time Control & Pairings
The congress uses a time control of 110 minutes per player, plus a 10-second increment after each move. Therefore, players get a long-game format across a compact weekend schedule.
All sections use Swiss-system pairings. Swiss-Manager supports the pairing process, and the October 2026 rating lists apply for pairings during the event.
The July 2026 rating lists determine section entry. For the Open and Challengers sections, the higher of a player’s ECF and FIDE rating applies. Also, non-ENG players entering those two sections need a FIN.
Players must record all moves on the supplied scoresheets until their clock drops below 5 minutes. After that point, notation becomes optional.

The congress offers more than £7,000 in prize money, approximately US$9,410. Section prizes are shared equally if players tie on the same score.
