⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

The tournament uses a blitz time control of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move. Therefore, each game should stay dynamic while still giving players a small increment for technical positions and time scrambles.

The event follows an 11-round Swiss system. Pairings will use the Swiss-Manager pairing program, and the starting rank follows FIDE Blitz, FIDE Classical, and Austrian rating order. In addition, players without a proven rating will be classified as 2000 for prize purposes.

The confirmed cash prize fund is €900, approximately US$1,050.

The tournament also includes additional non-cash prizes. These awards cover the club with the most participants, rating and age categories, the best female player, and the oldest and youngest participants.

Each player can win only one prize. If a player qualifies for more than one award, the higher prize will apply.

The organizers will also hold a lottery drawing for all registrations received by 10 September 2026. The prize is one weekend in Vienna for two persons at Johannesgasse Apartments.
