Open A and Open B

Open A and Open B use a classical time control of 90 minutes for the whole game, plus a 30-second increment from move one.

The sections follow FIDE and Italian Chess Federation technical rules. As a result, players can expect a serious classical chess tournament with standard rating procedures.

Open C

Open C uses 60 minutes for the whole game, plus a 30-second increment from move one. This section offers a shorter classical format for players rated below 1700.

Pairings use the Swiss FIDE system. Tie-breaks follow this order: Buchholz Cut 1, Sonneborn-Berger, and Average Rating of Opponents.

The default time is 60 minutes. A player who arrives more than 60 minutes late for a round loses the game.
