About Icelandic Chess Federation
The Icelandic Chess Federation is the national chess federation for Iceland, based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It represents Iceland within FIDE and coordinates organized chess across clubs and players nationwide. Moreover, it is an experienced tournament organizer for both domestic championships and international events.
In addition, the federation organizes the annual Reykjavik Open, one of Iceland’s leading open chess tournament events. The Reykjavik Open is run as a FIDE-rated tournament in classical chess, attracting a large international field each year.
