Ratings Used

The tournament uses the January 2027 Official US Chess Rating List.

US Chess unofficial ratings or US Chess Online Regular ratings are generally used when a player would otherwise be unrated or when determining eligibility to play in the Major section.

Foreign and FIDE ratings may also affect section eligibility under Continental Chess Association rating-conversion rules.

Players may not enter a section below their US Chess Online Regular rating minus 100 points.

Major Section & Peak Rating

The Major section normally requires a rating of at least 1900.

Continental Chess also permits qualifying players to use its PeakRating.US rules when entering a higher section. Under the current rule, a player’s highest qualifying post-tournament US Chess Regular rating achieved during the preceding year may be used for this purpose.

Both over-the-board Regular and Online Regular peak ratings may qualify.
