♟️ About the Organizer

Asociación de Amigos por el Desarrollo del Ajedrez, also known as ASODEA, is a non-profit chess association from Seville, Andalusia, Spain. The association started on June 22, 2017, and appears in the provincial register of associations of Seville under number 18284. Its work focuses on chess as an educational, cultural, and social tool. It also promotes values such as equality, tolerance, and respect through practical chess activity.

ASODEA gives players a clear route into organized chess across southern Spain. Its activity includes chess tournaments, simultaneous exhibitions, chess classes, and cultural chess events. Therefore, the association fits both competitive players and people who see chess as part of learning, community work, and personal development.

🏆 Chess Events and Activities

ASODEA has built a strong tournament profile through recurring events in Andalusia. Its published tournament history includes the Hotel Vértice Sevilla Bormujos open series, the Hotel Vértice Chipiona Mar open, the Villa de Zahara magistral events, and the long-running Villa de Brenes tournament activity. These events give players different formats, rating levels, and playing conditions across Seville and Cádiz.

The association also works with hotels, municipal sports departments, local clubs, and regional chess bodies. For example, the 2nd International U2200 Open Hotel Vértice Chipiona Mar 2026 is organized with Hotel Vértice and supported by the Cádiz chess delegation, the Andalusian Chess Federation, Club Ajedrez Chipiona, and the Chipiona sports department. As a result, players get structured events with clear regulations, published schedules, and practical venue arrangements.

🌍 Player Experience and Community

Players who follow ASODEA events can find a useful mix of FIDE-rated chess, local open tournaments, U2200 competitions, blitz activity, and norm-focused events. The association often designs tournaments for amateur and club players, while also supporting stronger competitive events such as the Villa de Zahara magistral. This range helps different players choose events that match their rating, schedule, and travel plans.

ASODEA’s events usually provide direct registration by email, clear contact details, and named tournament support through José Antonio Fernández Rodríguez. He appears as an International Organizer in tournament documents and also serves as a main contact for several ASODEA-linked events. Therefore, players can expect a direct communication channel for registration, practical questions, and tournament information.
