European Youth Chess Championships 2026
European Youth Chess Championships 2026 take place at Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort in Hersonissos, Crete, from November 2 to 13. Moreover, the European Chess Union and Greek Chess Federation organize twelve championship sections. Open and Girls competitions run separately in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 age groups.
Every section uses a nine-round Swiss system and a time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move from move one. In addition, the published default time is 15 minutes. National federations can register invited players in each category and may also enter extra players under the official conditions.
The resort provides the playing halls and official accommodation for players, coaches, heads of delegation, and accompanying persons. Therefore, national delegations can coordinate meals, transfers, accreditation, and rooming lists through one championship system. The top three players in every section receive medals, while the top five receive published awards.
