⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

Open A, Open B, and the 30+ event each use nine Swiss rounds at 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes, with a 30-second increment from move one. In addition, the rapid event uses seven rounds at 10+5, while the blitz event uses eleven rounds at 3+2. The regulations require a one-hour waiting time in the classical sections. Consequently, open A is an IM-norm tournament subject to the final field and FIDE requirements. Open B is limited to players below 2000 FIDE, while the 30+ event is for players born in 1997 or earlier.

🏆 Prize Fund

The official regulations publish CZK70,000 for Open A, CZK15,000 for Open B, CZK15,000 for Open 30+, and CZK4,500 for each speed event. Therefore, the complete fixed cash total reaches CZK109,000, approximately $5,130 after conversion and upward rounding. Material prizes remain outside this cash total.

📝 Registration

Submit the obligatory classical entry and accommodation order by January 1 through the official application system or by email to office@avechess.cz . In addition, late classical entries pay the published surcharge. Rapid and blitz entries are accepted only on their respective event days. Consequently, foreign players must have a FIDE ID when submitting the application. Attendance control before the classical event is mandatory.
