⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

Players receive 90 minutes for the game, plus a 30-second increment from move one. This time control applies to both tournament sections.

The event uses a 9-round Swiss system. Pairings, results, and standings will appear through Chess-Results and Info64. However, the final ranking on Chess-Results prevails if any difference appears between platforms.

Tie-breaks follow this order: Buchholz -1, number of rounds selected to play, Sonneborn-Berger, average perfect performance of opponents, and drawing of lots.

The default time is 30 minutes after the official start of the round. Therefore, players should arrive early and check the pairings before each game.

Prizes are paid by bank transfer and may be subject to legal tax withholding. In addition, prize winners must provide the required payment details after the tournament.

Players must attend the closing ceremony to claim prizes, unless the organizer accepts a justified reason. Also, players who withdraw or miss one of the last two rounds lose prize eligibility.

🧩 Sections / Groups

The tournament has two age-based sections.

50+ Section is for players born between 1962 and 1976. It gives players over 50 a dedicated FIDE-rated classical tournament.

65+ Section is for players born in 1961 or earlier. This section gives older players a separate field with the same time control, schedule, and prize structure.

Players enter the section that matches their date of birth. Spanish players need a valid Spanish license, while players from other countries need a FIDE code.

Players should pay the entry fee by bank transfer and then complete the registration form. They must also attach proof of payment in PDF or JPG format.

The bank transfer must include the player’s full name and federation. In addition, hotel guests should remember that tournament registration does not reserve a hotel room.

Players may request up to three byes. Half-point byes are available only in the first six rounds. After that, a player may request a zero-point non-pairing.
