⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

The tournament uses a classical time control of 90 minutes per player, plus a 30-second increment from move 1. Therefore, players have enough time for serious calculation in each round.

The event has 5 rounds. Players may choose the 3-day schedule from Friday to Sunday or the 2-day schedule from Saturday to Sunday.

Pairings and standings are available through the tournament pairing platform. However, on-site paper copies remain definitive if any discrepancy appears. Also, posted pairings may change because of unforeseen circumstances or error.

Players who arrive more than 30 minutes late without prior notice risk forfeiting their games or having opponents reassigned. In addition, any player who has not arrived by 60 minutes after the round starts forfeits the game.

🏆 Prize Fund

The tournament has $1,540 in listed guaranteed cash prizes. The U1400 section awards trophies for the top three places.

👥 Sections / Groups

Championship Section

The Championship section is the top section of DFW Fall FIDE. It offers a FIDE-rated classical format for stronger players and titled participants.

U1800 Section

The U1800 section gives club players a separate FIDE-rated rating group. It follows the same time control and weekend schedule.

U1400 Section

The U1400 section is US Chess-rated only. It gives developing players a separate group and awards trophies for the top three places.
