Nagoya welcomes players nationwide for the Tokai Open Chess Tournament 2026 (FIDE U2400) – a two-day classical open held on January 11–12, 2026 at Higashi Sakura Kaikan. Organized by Nagoya Chess Club, the event blends a compact 5-round schedule, generous class prizes, and clear regulations under FIDE & JCF standards. With GM/IM free entry, strict fair-play rules, and convenient access in central Nagoya, this is an ideal start to your chess year.
Across two sessions, competitors play a FIDE/JCF-rated Swiss with a brisk classical cadence and tidy round times. Open standings decide the main awards, while A-class (U1800) and B-class (U1600) earn separate prizes. The field is capped at 50 players, so early registration and bank transfer are advised to secure your seat for this well-run festival in Aichi.
