🏆 Tournament Sections & Eligibility
The festival comprises three main sections:
- Tournament A: Open to players with a FIDE rating of 2099 or higher. Players with ratings between 1999 and 2099 may choose to participate in either Tournament A or B.
- Tournament B: Designed for players with a FIDE rating of 1999 or lower, providing an opportunity for emerging talents to compete in the TEPLICE OPEN 2025 Chess Tournament.
- Tournament S50+: Tailored for senior players born in 1975 or earlier, regardless of their FIDE rating.
⏱️ Time Control & Format
All tournaments will follow a 9-round Swiss system with the following time control:
- 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.
The “Sofia Rule” will be in effect, prohibiting draw offers before move 30, to encourage fighting games in the TEPLICE OPEN 2025 Chess Tournament.
💰 Prize Fund
The total prize fund for this tournament is 336,500 CZK, distributed as follows:
- Tournament A: 208,000 CZK, with 50,000 CZK awarded to the winner.
- Tournament B: 72,000 CZK, with 15,000 CZK for the first place.
- Tournament S50+: 56,500 CZK, with 10,000 CZK for the top finisher.

- June 13: Registration from 10:00 to 22:00.
- June 14: Registration continues from 08:00 to 14:00; Opening Ceremony at 15:30; Round 1 starts at 16:00.
- June 15–21: Rounds 2 to 8, each starting at 15:00.
- June 22: Final Round 9 at 09:00; Closing Ceremony at 14:00.
