The Olomouc Chess Summer 2025 invites players of all levels to an extraordinary week of chess, culture, and camaraderie in the heart of the Czech Republic. Set in the beautiful and historic city of Olomouc, this 26th edition of the festival blends serious competition with rich cultural experiences. Whether you’re a grandmaster or a club player, the event offers a welcoming and competitive atmosphere across multiple tournament categories.

⏱️ Time Control

Each classical tournament uses the time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with 30 seconds increment per move from move one. The default waiting time is 1 hour.

• Prizes: 5,000 CZK / 3,000 CZK / 2,000 CZK

B) International Master Tournament

• Format: 10-player round-robin
• For players with FIDE rating ≥ 2200
• Prizes: 3,000 CZK / 2,000 CZK / 1,000 CZK

C) Olomouc Open

• 9-round Swiss system
• Open to all players
• Prize fund: 30,000 CZK including best woman, junior, and rating-category prizes

D1) Seniors Open 50+

• 9-round Swiss
• For players born in 1975 or earlier
• Prize fund: 10,000 CZK

D2) Seniors Open 65+

• 9-round Swiss
• For players born in 1960 or earlier
• Prize fund: 13,000 CZK

E) Rapid Tournament

• August 23, 2025
• 7-round Swiss
• Time control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move

F) Blitz Tournament

• August 21, 2025
• 11-round Swiss
• Time control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move

💶 Entry Fees

• Discounts of 25% apply to FM title holders, women, and seniors (65+).
• A late registration surcharge of 8.5 EUR applies after August 6, 2025.
