PARTICIPATION

• Every National Federation can register one official player in each category (under 14, 16, 18 years old, open and girls) for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. This results in a total of six (6) Official Players plus one Accompanying Official Head of Delegation, belonging to the national federation. They are invited by the Organizers. A player must not have reached his/her 14th, 16th or 18th birthday, respectively, before 1st January 2025.
• The top 3 players from the previous championships, along with the Champions of the last Continental Youth Championships, have the right to participate in the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025 in their respective age category. Players who meet the age requirement in Article 2.1 may also opt to compete in a higher age category. In such cases, the national federation must register them as Official Players.
• Players, other than Official Players, shall be classified as Additional Players. All other persons, other than players or the Accompanying Officials, shall be classified as Accompanying Persons. Each National Federation shall be responsible for all the costs of their Additional Players and Accompanying Persons for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025.
• To provide appropriate tournament conditions, Federations must complete the official online registration form. They should submit it to the Organizers by Saturday, 2nd August 2025. After this deadline, organizers will no longer register official players as invited players. They may also choose not to accept additional participants. Alternatively, they could request an additional fee of €80 in accordance with FIDE regulations. The registration fee is compulsory and represents a confirmation of participation in the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. Otherwise, a registration will be invalid and will not be accepted.
• In case of absence of both parents or legal guardians, the child/adolescent must be accompanied by an adult. This adult must present written legal authorization granting powers for the care and custody of the minor.

FIDE ENTRY FEES

• According to FIDE regulations, participants must pay a FIDE entry fee of €70 for each Official Player and €140 for each Additional Player before the tournament begins.
• The National Federations must send this amount directly to the FIDE bank account for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. Otherwise, FIDE will charge the respective National Federation account.

REGISTRATION AND TRAVEL

• Registration fee: All players and accompanying people, including coaches, captains, and head of delegations, should pay a Registration Fee of 120 Euros per person to the Organizer by 2nd August 2025. The organizers will pay for airport transfers (to the same or nearest city where the tournament is organized), accreditation, organization costs, and participation certificates.
• The deadline for registration is 2nd August 2025 for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. After this date, organizers reserve the right to refuse or decline late registrations. If there is availability, a penalty of 80 € for each late registration will be charged to participants.
• Federations should register the official players and accompanying officials by the above deadline for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. After this date, no official players will be accepted. Instead, their application will be treated as if they were additional players.
• Every registration must include the Federation, FIDE ID, surname, first name, accommodation type, dates of arrival/departure, and the passport number of every player and every accompanying person who requires an invitation. It must also include the name, details, phone number, and email of the head of each delegation. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025.
• A player registered in a lower category of age due to a mistake in specifying his/her birthday will have his/her registration suspended until rectification.
• Free transfers for players, accompanying officials, and additional individuals on official arrival and departure days will be provided from ‘Mother Teresa’ Tirana International Airport to the official hotel. The airport is located 40 km (about 45 minutes) from the hotel.
• Players who make private transport arrangements and clearly indicate this in the regulation will be fully responsible for any problems they experience during arrival or departure.

PAYMENTS

• Participants must submit their entries through the registration forms by 2nd August 2025 for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025.
• When registering for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025, participants must pay the registration fee of €120 and a minimum of 30% prepayment of the total cost through the organizer’s provided bank account.

• The sender must pay the foreign bank commissions. If not, the organizers will charge the respective amount, which the participant must pay upon arrival.
• The organizers will charge entry fees for late registration, withdrawal, or no-show as per FIDE Regulations. You can find more details at the following link: https://handbook.fide.com/chapter/D0401 202312.
• The organizers will invoice each National Federation for the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025. Once the organizers confirm payments, they will send the participating Federation the hotel booking confirmation. The organizers will also update confirmed registrations on the official website and Chess Results. Federations can check players’ status daily.
• The participants at the FIDE World Youth Championships 2025 must finalize all payments upon arrival. The organizers will not pair players until they receive all payments and fees.
