The 9th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship 2025 will unfold from July 20 to 30, 2025, in the scenic city of Zhuhai, China. Hosted at the elegant Zhuhai Holiday Resort, this prestigious international event brings together the region’s top youth talents to compete in classical, rapid, and blitz formats. Sanctioned by FIDE and organized under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation, the championship welcomes federations from Zones 3.3 and 3.5 for a competitive, friendly, and culturally enriching chess experience.

⏱️ TIME CONTROL

The championship will feature three formats:

  • Standard: 90 minutes per player + 30 seconds increment from move 1 (9 rounds).
  • Rapid: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment (7 rounds played in one day).
  • Blitz: 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment (9 rounds played in one day).

Players must be punctual—default time for standard games is 30 minutes; Blitz and Rapid games are forfeited immediately if the clock runs out.

🏆 PRIZE FUND

This event focuses on titled awards, trophies, and medals, distributed as follows:

  • Trophies & Medals for top 3 in each category (Open & Girls: U8–U18).
  • Medals & Certificates for 4th to 10th place in each category.
  • Team medals awarded based on total scores of top 3 players per federation.
  • Federation ranking trophies based on cumulative medals in Standard events.
  • Direct FIDE titles (IM, FM, CM, WIM, WFM, WCM) awarded based on final standings and rating requirements.


📝 REGISTRATION

All players must register via their national federations. Individual registrations are not accepted.

  • Entry Fee:

    • $75 (official players)
    • $150 (additional players)

  • Registration Fee: $110 (all participants and accompanying persons)
  • Deadline for hotel prepayment: 1st June 2025
  • Deadline for full registration: 1st July 2025 (late entries incur $50 surcharge)

All participants must have valid FIDE IDs. Entry is complete only after fee payment and room confirmation.

  • Accommodation (Full board, 10 nights):

    • Single Room: $1100
    • Deluxe Double Room: $900
    • Standard Double Room: $800

Accommodation includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. No discounts for shorter stays.

Travel:

  • Nearest Airports: Guangzhou, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen International
  • Transfers available from airports and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai border (China side)
  • Flight details must be submitted before 10th July 2025

Visa Support:

  • Requests must be submitted before 1st June 2025
  • Invitation letters issued only after payment confirmation
