The section structure is designed to create meaningful pairings across a wide rating range. Players should use the rating basis stated on the registration page when determining eligibility.
Up to two half-point byes are permitted under the published conditions. A final-round bye must be requested before Round 1, so entrants should plan the complete weekend before play begins.
Four sections let the tournament accommodate a wide playing range without placing every entrant into one pairings pool. The Masters group provides the top competitive tier, while Under 1400 gives newer tournament players a more appropriate environment.
⏰ Time Control & Pairings
The championship uses a 60-minute time control with a 30-second increment for every move. Five Swiss rounds are completed over two days.
FIDE and CFC rating applies to the relevant sections under the event conditions. The Under 1400 group follows the rating treatment described by the organizer.
Players may use the published bye options, but requests must meet the timing and round restrictions. Late changes can affect pairings and may not be accepted.
At 60+30, each game can still last several hours. A five-round weekend therefore combines one day with more than one demanding session and requires careful time management between pairings.
📂 Sections / Groups
| Masters | Top championship section |
| Under 2200 | For eligible players below the published 2200 limit |
| Under 1800 | For eligible players below the published 1800 limit |
| Under 1400 | For eligible developing players under the published 1400 limit |
Play-up requests are governed by the registration conditions and may carry a $20 supplement. Players should not assume that every upward move is automatic.
🗓️ Schedule
| Saturday, August 29 | Opening day and first championship rounds under the official timetable |
| Sunday, August 30 | Remaining rounds and awards after the final game |
The precise session times are maintained on the tournament registration page. Participants should use the current timetable rather than an older social-media post when planning arrival.

The entry profile should include both FIDE and CFC numbers. Section choice must follow the stated rating rules. Two half-point byes are possible. A last-round bye needs an early declaration. Play-up requests may cost $20. The organizer confirms the final placement.
