The tournament runs a 5-round Swiss system across all sections.
Time control:
40 moves in 90 minutes
Add 30 minutes to finish

Rules and procedures:
Section A follows FIDE rules, and the other sections follow FQÉ rules.
The tournament applies a 30-minute late-arrival limit after the arbiter starts the clocks.
Players must keep electronic devices fully powered off inside a player’s bag; a violation results in immediate loss of the game.
Byes:
Players may request a half-point bye for Rounds 1 and 2 if they request it before the end of registration on Friday at 19:00.
Players may request a zero-point bye for Rounds 3–5 in writing to the chief arbiter no later than five hours after the start of the previous round.
Equipment:
The organizer provides boards and pieces.
Players should bring a programmable clock that supports the tournament time control.
Players may rent a clock for $4 per round with a photo ID.
