⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

A-Open and B-Open

The A-Open and B-Open use a classical time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves. After that, each player receives 30 minutes for the rest of the game. In addition, a 30-second increment applies from move 1.

Both groups have 9 rounds and count for Elo and DWZ rating. The Sofia rule applies in the open groups, so players may agree to a draw only after 30 moves.

Challengers

The Challengers group uses the same classical time control. It has 7 rounds and counts for DWZ rating.

Players may take one half-point bye up to and including Thursday. Therefore, participants who need one rest round should request it within the allowed period.

The Elo Blitz event has 13 rounds and uses a time control of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move. The Chess960 event has 7 rounds and uses 15 minutes plus 5 seconds per move.
