⏱️ Time Control & Pairings

Each section uses the same classical 90+30 format. Therefore, the congress suits players who want full standard-play games rather than a faster weekend format. The event also runs as a 6-round Swiss, so every player gets a complete four-day schedule.

Players may take up to two half-point byes. However, they may not use a bye in the final round. That rule gives some flexibility early in the congress while still protecting the finish of the event.

💰 Prize Fund

The congress advertises a minimum prize fund of £3,000. Each of the three sections has the same published main prizes, and prizes are shared in the event of a tie.

These additional prizes are awarded to individual players and are not shared.
