♟️ About Wolfgang Fiedler

Wolfgang Fiedler is an experienced German chess organizer, International Arbiter, and FIDE International Organizer. Based in Neustadt, Bavaria, he has worked in tournament administration, arbitration, competition management, and senior chess for many years.

His work covers every major part of tournament delivery. He prepares regulations, coordinates venues, manages registrations, supervises pairings, leads arbiter teams, and communicates with players before and during events. In addition, he works with chess federations, regional associations, clubs, hotels, municipalities, and local partners.

FIDE awarded Wolfgang Fiedler the International Organizer title in 2012 and the International Arbiter title in 2014. Therefore, he brings both organizational and regulatory experience to the tournaments he manages. He also remains an active competitive chess player and represents SC Schwarz-Weiß Nürnberg Süd.

🏆 Tournament Organization and Arbitration

Wolfgang Fiedler has organized and directed national championships, international open tournaments, senior competitions, rapid events, blitz championships, and team tournaments. His experience includes events conducted under the authority of the German Chess Federation, the Bavarian Chess Federation, regional chess bodies, and independent organizing partners.

Between 2012 and 2021, he worked extensively within the women’s chess section of the German Chess Federation. During that period, he organized and directed German individual, team, rapid, and blitz championships. Moreover, he served as an arbiter during numerous national league competition days.

His work requires detailed coordination with players, arbiters, accommodation providers, technical teams, and venue management. As a result, his tournaments often combine professional competition standards with complete residential packages and practical services for participants.

👥 Senior Chess and International Events

Senior chess forms a major part of Wolfgang Fiedler’s organizing activity. He has developed and managed tournaments for players in the 50+, 60+, 65+, and older age categories. These events give experienced players opportunities to compete in FIDE-rated tournaments while also enjoying a social and welcoming tournament environment.

His tournament portfolio includes the International Arber Chess Festival, senior events in Bad Wiessee, the Bavarian Senior Chess Championship, tournaments in Bischofsgrün, and competitions in Bad Soden-Salmünster. In addition, he has supported major senior events in Binz on the Baltic island of Rügen.

Wolfgang Fiedler often combines several competitions within one festival. For example, a program may include an international open, a senior tournament, and a separate section for older players. Consequently, participants can choose a competition that matches their age, rating, and sporting goals.
