Tatrafest

Tatrafest is a High Tatras-based chess organizer in Slovakia and the public brand behind one of the country’s longest-running chess traditions. Since 2022, it has brought together the spring and autumn parts of the Tatra Chess Festival under one identity. Moreover, it continues the legacy of Open Tatry, a historic classical chess event first launched in 1952.

The organization runs multi-event festival programs in Tatranské Matliare, including open chess tournament sections, senior championships, and blitz events. Its calendar combines competitive chess with accommodation, tourism, and a wider social festival setting in the mountains.
