🏆 Slovakia Chess Open Piešťany

The Slovakia Chess Open Piešťany is one of the organization’s principal international events. The tournament is staged in the spa city of Piešťany and has developed into a substantial summer classical festival attracting both Slovak and international players. The 2024 edition demonstrated the international scale of the event, attracting approximately 200 players from 19 federations across its two classical tournaments. FIDE supported that edition through its Aid Package, while the Open A field included Grandmasters, International Masters, and leading juniors from several countries. The 2026 Slovakia Chess Open Piešťany took place from July 9–17, 2026 at the Ensana Esplanade on Spa Island. ŠK Modra, Slovenská organizačná, and Ensana cooperated on the organization. The main competition used a nine-round Swiss format with classical time control and was submitted for FIDE and Slovak rating calculation.

♜ Regional Tournament Program

Slovakia Chess Open Team does not limit its activity to one flagship tournament. Instead, it organizes events in different parts of Slovakia, often working with local chess clubs and municipalities. In February 2026, the team organized the Modranský pohár Ľudovíta Štúra in Modra. Ján Kišon served as Tournament Director, while Tomáš Perička was Chief Arbiter. The tournament continued a recurring event within the Slovakia Chess Open calendar. On July 25, 2026, Slovenská organizačná worked with the City of Gbely and Šachový klub Gbely to stage the O pohár primátora mesta Gbely rapid tournament. The seven-round event welcomed experienced players as well as amateurs and included prizes for women, seniors, juniors, and local competitors. The Kremnický Zlatý Dukát 2026, also dedicated as the Memorial of Maroš Kraml, took place from August 20–23, 2026 in Kremnica. The seven-round classical tournament offered cash and category prizes, with Ján Kišon acting as Tournament Director and Tomáš Perička as Chief Arbiter.
