♟️ About Skakklubben Seksløberen

Skakklubben Seksløberen is a Copenhagen-based chess club that focuses on competitive play, team chess, tournament participation, and cooperation with other Danish chess organizations. The club operates as an independent voluntary association and represents players in competitions organized within the Danish Chess Union and the Copenhagen Chess Union structure. Its membership has included experienced club competitors, leading female players, arbiters, and tournament officials. Although the club maintains a compact organizational structure, its members have contributed significantly to Copenhagen and Danish chess through tournament administration, league participation, and practical event organization.

🏆 Competitive Chess and Tournament Expertise

Members of Skakklubben Seksløberen regularly participate in classical, rapid, blitz, individual, and team competitions. The club has fielded players in Copenhagen league chess and national events, while several members have competed successfully in major Danish opens and championships. International Arbiter Peter Erik Olsen is one of the club’s most prominent representatives. He has served Danish chess for many years as an arbiter, tournament director, league administrator, and committee member. In 2022, the Danish Chess Union recognized his extensive contribution to tournament administration. His work included managing the Copenhagen team championship, chairing the national division tournament committee for more than a decade, and assisting major events such as Politiken Cup and XtraCon Open.

🌍 Cooperation with ØBRO Sommerskak

Skakklubben Seksløberen works closely with Skakforeningen ØBRO on tournaments and social chess activities. Members of both clubs participate in shared seasonal events, team blitz competitions, and community gatherings at ØBRO’s premises. The two organizations jointly manage the annual ØBRO Sommerskak EMT, a compact international summer tournament in Copenhagen. For the 2026 edition, Peter Erik Olsen serves as tournament director and chief arbiter. The event includes seven classical rounds, FIDE and Danish rating calculation, and several Swiss groups arranged according to player strength. Seksløberen contributes tournament direction, arbiter expertise, registration administration, technical coordination, and participant communication. Through this partnership, the club helps provide a professionally managed tournament while preserving the friendly and social atmosphere associated with summer chess at ØBRO.
