♟️ About the Organizer

ŠK Dolňácko, z.s. is a regional chess association based in Dolní Němčí, in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. The organization continues a local chess tradition that began in 1955, when players first started meeting regularly in Dolní Němčí.

The first friendly team match took place in 1956, followed by participation in an organized regional competition during the 1957–1958 season. Since then, several generations of players have represented the community in individual tournaments and team championships.

The present association was formally registered in March 2026. It developed from the former ŠK Dolní Němčí and adopted the regional name Dolňácko, which refers to the traditional ethnographic area within Moravian Slovakia.

Antonín Světinský serves as Chairman of the association. He is also an active player, team captain, tournament director, and the principal contact for the club’s public events.

🏆 Tournaments and Team Chess

The club’s principal annual event is the Rapid ŠK Dolňácko. The tournament has a history of more than 25 editions and regularly attracts players from different parts of the Czech Republic and neighboring countries.

The 27th edition took place in May 2026 as part of the Czech Republic’s national Rapid Chess Grand Prix. The competition used nine Swiss-system rounds and counted toward both Czech and FIDE rapid ratings.

ŠK Dolňácko also organizes the Dolňácká Bleskovka. The first edition under the new regional club name takes place in October 2026 and serves as the Open Zlín Regional Blitz Championship.

The club supports its tournaments through cooperation with the Municipality of Dolní Němčí, the Zlín Regional Chess Association, sponsors, arbiters, and local volunteers. Events traditionally combine competitive chess with local hospitality and a friendly community atmosphere.

Team chess remains another important part of the organization’s activities. Its leading team achieved promotion to the Zlín Regional Championship after a successful 2024–2025 season. The club also operates additional teams so that adult players and promising juniors can gain regular league experience.

🌱 Junior Chess and Regional Development

Youth development forms a central part of the club’s plans. ŠK Dolňácko runs chess activities for children and supports their participation in the Zlín Regional Youth Grand Prix and other junior tournaments.

The organization also hosts a stage of the regional youth rapid series. Separate age categories allow younger players to compete against opponents at a similar stage of development.

The association aims to serve several nearby communities, including Dolní Němčí, Horní Němčí, Hluk, and Uherský Ostroh. It remains open to cooperation with other municipalities, schools, and local organizations in the Dolňácko region.

This regional approach gives children access to chess instruction closer to home. It also creates opportunities to hold league matches and tournaments in different participating communities as the club develops.

Through long-running tournaments, adult teams, junior instruction, and regional cooperation, ŠK Dolňácko continues the chess tradition of Dolní Němčí while building a broader chess community across southeastern Moravia.
