Silesian Chess Association

Silesian Chess Association is a regional chess federation based in Katowice, Poland. Founded in 1924, it has shaped organized chess in the Silesian Voivodeship for more than a century. The association coordinates clubs, supports competition, and promotes chess across one of Poland’s strongest chess regions.

The federation runs a broad sports and organizer structure. It manages regional leagues, championships, youth systems, and FIDE-rated events during the year. It also stands behind major projects such as the Ustroń chess festival and has taken on large international responsibilities, including top-level championship organization in Katowice.
