​The Royal Ostend Chess Club (Koninklijke Oostendse Schaakkring, KOSK) is a distinguished chess organization located in Ostend, Belgium. Renowned for its rich history and vibrant chess community, KOSK actively engages in both local and international chess activities. In December 2022, the club hosted members of the Hammersmith Chess Club from London, organizing a 3-minute blitz tournament that showcased KOSK's exceptional hospitality and commitment to fostering international chess relations. The club's facilities are notable, featuring purpose-made desks with inlaid chess boards and a collection of vintage chess clocks, reflecting its dedication to preserving chess heritage. KOSK continues to be a central hub for chess enthusiasts in the region, promoting the game through various events and fostering a welcoming environment for players of all levels.
