♟️ About the Liaocheng Organizing Committee
The Liaocheng Organizing Committee is the local operational body responsible for delivering the 2026 FISU World University Championship Mind Sports in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, China. The committee works within the event structure established by FISU, the China Student Sports Federation, and the People’s Government of Liaocheng. Li Changping, Secretary of the CPC Liaocheng Municipal Committee, and Zhang Baishun, Mayor of Liaocheng, are identified as chairs of the Organizing Committee. The committee brings together municipal authorities, event personnel, sporting institutions, volunteers, venue services, and technical partners to prepare and stage the championship.
🏆 Championship Organization and Operations
The committee coordinates the championship’s logistics, competition operations, accommodation, catering, transport, accreditation, ceremonies, medical provision, delegation support, and participant communication. It also works with the Chinese Chess Association, Chinese Bridge Association, and China Anti-Doping Agency on specialized areas of event preparation and competition management. The chess and bridge competitions will take place at the Arcadia International Hot Spring Hotel in Liaocheng. The same complex provides the official accommodation, meals, information services, and central operational base for participating delegations. This residential structure allows the committee to manage competition and participant services within one coordinated environment.
🌍 Hosting International University Mind Sports
The Liaocheng Organizing Committee serves as the principal contact for national delegations attending the championship. Its responsibilities include receiving travel information, coordinating official transfers, assisting with entry and visa procedures, answering accommodation questions, and communicating organizational updates. The committee also maintains the official championship website and event-specific social-media channels. According to the event website, approximately 30 countries are expected to participate. Therefore, the committee must coordinate a multilingual and internationally regulated competition while also presenting Liaocheng as a host city for university sport and mind-sports development. Wendy Yao is the published direct contact for delegations and organizational assistance.
